Astor College has been awarded Artsmark Gold for the fourth time. In 2000 The Arts Council devised an award the aim of which was to enable schools throughout the country to audit their arts provision and then be awarded bronze silver or gold Artsmark according to the level of their activity. Astor was awarded Gold from 2000 to 2012 and this year took part in a revised award that provided two levels, Artsmark and Artsmark Gold. We have just learnt that we have again been awarded Gold. This achievement is a mark of how the arts, both visual and performing, are an essential part of Astor life and the Dover Federation for the Arts. This award would not have been possible without the marvellous work the students have created over the past few years and the guidance they have received from their talented and committed staff.
