Deal Festival hosts the Changeling Theatre's production of Romeo & Juliet on 1st July at Walmer Castle. In the run up to the main festival, a theatre workshop was held at Astor College on Thursday 26 June. Students explored the Romeo and Juliet text and worked independently to develop their skills and acting techniques.
In addition to this, a wonderful morning on 2nd July 2014 was spent with the young, talented dancers of Duke of York's Military School, Astor College, and Castle Community College. The day was devised by Stuart Hopps and Tony Thatcher, and was delivered by the brilliant 3rd year graduate dancers at Trinity Laban. Students explored a range of technique and alignment exercises, followed by being taught short phrases of movement and performed to the class at the end of the session. The graduates also performed at the Deal Festival on Wednesday 2nd July at 7.30pm at St. George's Church in Deal. Managed by the Deal Festival and funded by Arts Council England.
