Dancing on Armistice Day

A huge congratulations to Mason (Year 9) who won the part of a character called Ocho in the new Music / Drama / Dance production - “Dancing on Armistice Day”.

Martin Riley and David Burridge have now finished writing this new work, initiated by Dover District Council and funded by the Armed Forces Community Covenant Grant Scheme. It will be directed by Matthew Sharp.

“It can be argued that dance rather than peace is the opposite to war. When we dance we are not passive; we are engaged, dynamic, constantly responding to changes of mood, of music, harmonious, empathetic. When we dance together we overcome our divergence and celebrate our differences. The story begins and ends with a dance.”  Martin Riley

The performances are:

  • Saturday November 7th 2015–  Revelation, St Mary’s, Ashford
  • Sunday November  8th  2015 –  Nye Hall, Duke of York’s School, Dover
