For the past ten years Astor College has organised the National Students Art Exhibition in collaboration with the RBA at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London. Hundreds of entries were sent into Astor from all over the country and from these the exhibits were selected. The show was opened by Nigel Carrington, Rector of the University of the Arts after an introductory speech by Mr Russell and a welcoming address by James Horton, the President of the RBA.
Hundreds of students as well as their parents and teachers attended the opening and the show will continue for the week.
The Astor students who exhibited were, Annie Greenstreet, John Petulla, Liam Care, Sumam Saru, Ethan Sheppard, Rachel Kember, Scott Cozens, William Perfect and Bradley Heath. Liam and Sumam were selected as RBA Scholars along with a number of other students from other schools. Those selected will have their work hung at the annual RBA exhibition in March alongside the senior members of the Society.
