Performing Arts – Work Related Learning

During the last week of the summer term, year 10 students were involved in work related learning. A group of students selected to complete their work experience within the performing arts industry. These students were given a commission to create a piece of educational theatre and deliver a practical workshop based on the theme of cyber-bullying and e-safety.

Within this task, the students had to delegate and take on job roles within the company, in order to complete the commission to a professional standard. These job roles ranged from administration staff to choreographers and performers. After having only 2 days to work on the project, the company ‘BU’ successfully took their piece of theatre into White Cliffs Primary College and Barton Primary School.

There was positive feedback from both staff and students involved, who all felt there was a serious message learnt about e-safety.
