On December 23rd, Mrs Chamberlain, Miss Cloke and Miss Gerrard travelled to London with Astor's own in-house dance company, Rebound, to perform at Her Majesty's Theatre.
Rebound were selected to perform 2 numbers at the prestigious venue and were very proud to open the show with a Luther Vandross cover of 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas', complete with white furry snow hats and skater style dresses with 'A Winter Wonderland' as inspiration for the piece. In contrast to this, Rebound closed the variety show with an abstract contemporary piece to 'Teeth' by Lady Gaga, aiming to communicate a 'High School Horror' theme.
6 other schools from around the country were selected by audition to collaborate with Mardis Gras Performances, who are also responsible for arranging dance performances to EuroDisney and many other famous theatres, including Sadlers Wells and The Royal Albert Hall.
Mrs Chamberlain said 'It was an amazing experience for our dancers to be involved in, and they were lucky enough to meet and chat to the compere for the show, who also plays Phantom in 'The Phantom of the Opera'.
Miss Cloke and Miss Gerrard agreed 'It was a wonderful way to finish the Christmas term and we are excited to plan for many more performance opportunities this coming year'.
